Homemade Organic Vegetable Wash

Homemade Organic Vegetable Wash

Make sure your produce is pesticide free with these alternatives to expensive vegetable wash. Homemade Organic Vegetable Wash is so much cheaper and better for you in my opinion.

Did You Know: You should wash the outsides of melons before cutting through them? If you don’t, the knife will drag the pesticides/dirt/bacteria from the outside rind into the melon as you cut.

Here is what you will need to make your own Homemade Organic Vegetable Wash

You’ll need vinegar and an empty spray bottle. You can use apple cider vinegar or just white distilled vinegar. Pour in about 1/2 cup of vinegar and fill the rest with water. Shake it up. Spray on your fruits and vegetables and then rinse!  That’s it!! Easy and less expensive than buying a product like “Fit”. I have read a few consumer articles on the subject, and come to my own conclusion that buying such products results in the washing away of your money, and little else.

Here’s the approximate cost breakdown:

Store bought:
1 16 oz. bottle of veggie wash: $9.92

Homemade:
1 empty spray bottle: $1 {bought at Dollar Store}
1/2 cup of organic apple cider vinegar (one bottle is $4.20): $0.50
Total: $1.50
