My kids are always trying to get me to buy toaster strudels and pop tarts and I’m always telling them no, because lets be honest, they will be gone in one sitting! I’ve been meaning to make something similar at home and just now getting around to posting this.
This easy strawberry pie recipe is really great because you can use pre-made pie dough and no one will know the difference. Next time I make this, I’m going to try puff pastry! I think that will make it more like a toaster strudel. Also, you can use any type of filling rather it’s apple, blueberries, raspberry etc…Just make sure you mix it really good so it’s nice and smooth. I love my KitchenAid, and if you don’t have one, I suggest you see what I’m talking about.

Easy Strawberry Pie Recipe
Ingredients
- Pie Dough {I used Pillsbury Pie Crusts}
- 2 cups Strawberries, chopped
- 1/4-1/2 cup sugar {depending how sweet you want it}
- 1 TBSP butter, melted
- Powdered Sugar {optional}
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out your pie dough.
- Cut out shapes with cookie cutter.
- Mix the strawberries with 1/2 cup sugar
- Lay out your cutouts on the baking sheet. Spoon some of the strawberry mixture onto the top of one of the cutouts
- Lay down the other cutout on top, seal to press with a fork.
- Brush the top with melted butter.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until your cutouts are golden brown.
- The baking time will largely depend on the thickness of your pastry dough and your oven. Just keep close watch.
- Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
I used this Wilton Red Metal Heart Cookie Cutter 3″ but you can use any type of cookie cutter.
