I’m not sure why I haven’t tried making these Fried Pickles sooner! Probably because I know how bad they are for me! I think a nice crispy crust is the key to the perfect Fried Pickles Recipe and I know the secret!! If you would like to learn how to make fried pickles then check out this easy and delicious recipe! All you need are a few items and you will be on your way to making your own easy fried pickles! Did you know that Fried Dill Pickles were made popular by Bernell Fatman Austin in 1963 at the Duchess Drive located in Atkins, Arkansas. The Fatman’s Recipe is only known to his family and used once each year at the annual Picklefest in Atkins, held each May! I wonder how they would stand up to my delicious recipe!?
Fried Pickles Recipe
Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil {I used Canola}
- 1 cup dill pickle chips
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1.5 Cup of flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Ranch Dressing
- Hot Sauce
Instructions
- Heat the oil to 350 Degrees
- Drain pickles.
- Place the buttermilk in one bowl and in another bowl combine the following: flour, salt, paprika and pepper
- Place each pickle in the buttermilk then dredge in the flour then back into the buttermilk then dredge into the flour again.
- Once the heat is at 350 â?? fry the pickles. Fry until golden brown and then place the fried pickles onto a paper towel to drain.
- The Sauce: in a small bowl combine ranch dressing and hot sauce. {to your liking}
