Prayer Requests

We here at Slick Housewives would love to pray for you! “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 6-7

Financial crisis

I've been laid off 5 times in the last 8 years. My husband has also endured a number of lay offs. Every time one of us gets a job, the other loses one. This time, it was me, & I didn't qualify for unemployment benefits. I've been unemployed for about 10 months now. We have four children and we're trying really hard to make ends meet, but not with much success. I keep writing checks for bills & just praying God will cover them. Our bank account is in the negative for about $600. We owe our land lord $2700. We've already used our security deposit toward past due rent, so we need to replace that as well. Our lease is up on Jan 1st, and we haven't heard from our landlord about renewing. I think she's waiting to see if we can get caught up, and we're trying, but I feel like we're in quicksand. Our electricity hasn't been paid in months. Our car is falling apart. We are literally down to our last $20 as of tonight, And he doesn't get paid for another week. I know that God will protect us, I pray he'll take care of us & provide for us. I can't take this stress anymore. When you're down to your last diaper, when you run out of milk, when your car is on empty, and you only have change in your wallet - you really feel the frustration. There are people out there buying fancy phones, designer purses & $500 shoes - and I can't even buy a diaper or a gallon of milk. I use 100's of coupons at the store to stretch every penny we have. I'm constantly stressed, worried, & embarassed. It's a terrible feeling. No one should live like this. Please pray, for a miracle. A job, an opportunity, a big sweepstakes win, anything - that can get my rent paid and put my mind at ease.
