As some of you may remember, I wrote a post for Bianca back in the summer about the Schick Hydro® 5 razor. I am happy to report that I have continued to use the razor since Bianca gave me the first set to try. Over time, I have found that my face was less irritated and the blades lasted much longer than other brands of razors. Today, Bianca brought me the Schick Hydro® 5 Power Select razor to try.
It has a redesigned handle and now has a power feature that sets the head of the razor to vibrate at three different power levels. At first I thought, what is the deal with the vibration? Then I tried it out and could tell a difference in the number of strokes it took to get my face “baby smooth.”
Normally, I have to use very short strokes of the razor multiple times to get that professional appearance that I want. With the vibrating feature, I could make a single slow careful stroke and get the same level of shave as using the non-vibrating razor with multiple strokes. This was GREAT! Fewer strokes means less irritation! Schick already had the upper hand with the Schick Hydro® 5’s improved glide with 80% more lubricant surface area, improved safety with reduced space between blades to minimize skin bulge, and improved comfort with the hydrating gel reservoir and the larger guard bar design to stretch the skin.
Now I am shaving much faster with less effort and irritation. I simply slather my face with Edge® Shave Gel for sensitive skin (it has colloidal oatmeal – I am not sure what this is, but it is great) and make long even strokes with ease. I didn’t think I could be more impressed with the first razor Bianca gave me but I was wrong. This razor is the top of my list.
