Publix Store Policy

Publix is a great place to shop using coupons. They have tons of store coupons, most locations accept competitor coupons (just ask which ones they accept), plus they double coupons!!!

The kinds of coupons accepted by Publix:

Manufacturer Newspaper coupons: These coupons are found in the free-standing inserts in your Sunday paper: Smart Source, Red Plum and Procter & Gamble.

Printable Coupons: Publix accepts printable coupons.  However, Publix does not accept printable coupons for a free item if the value exceeds $5.00.

Publix Store Coupons: Publix has store coupons which can be stacked with a manufacturer’s coupon, unless either coupon prohibits it. these are usually found in the round circular when entering the store. They include Publix Advantage Buy Fliers,Promotional Coupon Booklets,In Ad coupons, and Magazines – Publix has 4 different magazines they publish several times per year that include several coupons in them.  You can request Family Style, Green Wise Market Magazine, Grape Magazine, and Publix Pet Program. Head over HERE to request your FREE Magazines.

Competitor Coupons: Publix will accept competitors’ coupons, but it is up to each individual store to decide who their competitors are.  When using a competitor coupon, you can stack a manufacturer coupon with it. You cannot use a competitor coupon AND store coupon together on one item.

Some things that make Publix so GREAT!

Buy One Get One Sale(BOGO): One of the great deals at Publix is the Buy 1 Get 1 sale.  The products actually ring up as half off so you can choose to just buy 1 or 2.  In a B1G1 sale, you can use 2 manufacturer coupons, one for each item.  PLUS you can use a store coupon if there is one available. Here is what a BOGO coupon with a Publix BOGO sale would look like:

Minute Maid $4.00 each on sale BOGO($2.00 each)
Buy 2=$4.00(each one rings up $2.00)
Use BOGO coupon (will subtract $2)
Final Price: $1.00 each or $2.00 for both

Doubling Coupons: Publix will double any manufacturer coupon up to $0.50 any day of the week.  There are no limits on the number of coupons they will double.

Publix Penny Item: Publix offers a different “mystery item” for $0.01 in the Wednesday or Thursday ad in Alabama, most of Georgia and Tennessee, and South Carolina, but not in Florida. To get  the penny item, you need to come in on Wednesday(some areas) or Thursday(some areas) with the penny item coupon from the ad and you will need to spend a minimum of $10 on your shopping order (excluding alcohol, money orders, postage stamps, gift cards, and prescriptions). The $10 is calculated using your before coupon total.  The item rings up at regular price then the coupon subtracts all but a penny of the price. This coupon will usually state “Limit one deal per coupon per customer”.

NOTE: Publix stores in the Flordia area do not double coupons. Also, in a BOGO sale in Flordia you must buy both items, it’s a true “Buy 1, Get 1 Free Sale”.
