I don’t know about you, but I am not a morning person. I need a little “help” in the morning.
Usually I’m not fully awake until after my 2nd cup of coffee and sometimes I even skip breakfast.This year I have tried to make a point to have breakfast every day considering it’s the most important meal. My husband usually cooks a nice big breakfast on the weekend, but during the week, I need something simple.
The easiest thing I have found to start the day is cereal. This week I am so excited to be enjoying Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy. It comes in two flavors: Cinnamon Crunch and Chocolately Almond Crunch Packed with whole grain, protein and fiber, these cereals were designed to jump-start your day and reduce mid-morning hunger. The delicious combination of whole grain flakes and granola clusters is really satisfying and even with the chocolate isn’t overly sweet.
My favorite of the two was definately the Chocolately Almond Crunch. It was the 1st to be gone in our house! A single serving gives you more than 2/3 of the recommended daily whole grain, 10 grams of protein (when eaten with 1/2 cup of fat-free milk), and 5 grams of fiber. I love that I can have a cereal that is on the healthier side without sacrificing flavor.
These are so good that my children will ask for me to put them in ziplock bags for an afterschool snack.
