Netflix
Television has come so far since I was a kid. When I wanted to rewatch an episode of my favorite shows required a VHS tape, and remembering to either set up a time, or to push record at the right moment. Now we have DVD’s that come out with seasons of our favorite shows, and Netflix, which gives us our favorite shows, and our kid’s favorite shows at the touch of a mouse, Playstation or Xbox controller, or a button on your phone.
Netflix has now provided your children’s favorite shows from Hasbro, Disney Jr, Cartoon Network, and PBS right to your streaming video library. Shows like Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Thomas and Friends: Go Go Thomas, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Curious George, and Sesame Street, and many more!
You can take your favorite shows right along with you with Netflix. Netflix provides streaming video on hundreds of devices you already have at home. It’s also amazingly easy to access. Simply download the free app on your iPad, iPhone, iPod, game system, PC, or laptop, and you’re done. You can even get your first month free, if you’ve never experienced Netflix before.
Netflix has their own Kid’s section, which is appropriate for ages 2-12. All of this content is selected by Common Sense Media to provide ratings, reviews, and and information, so that you, as parents, can make informed decisions on what your children watch.
In my house, my boy love Curious George, The Lorax, and Thomas the Tank engine, and he watches it on Netflix all the time. My daughter is older, so she leans more towards shows like The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, and more of the teen shows, but also finds time to secretly watch The Lorax!
