Looking for Black Friday ads for 2011? Well then stay tuned because we will be posting them on our website!! More and more businesses are publishing their ads early, so that’s great for you and I because we can plan our “attack!” LOL!
What is Black Friday?
Simply explained, Black Friday is the first day after Thanksgiving and is marked by stores offering some of the lowest prices on popular consumer goods for the year. It is termed Black Friday because it is traditionally the first day of the year that the retail outlets go “in the black” or become profitable.
{Tip} Get the Newspaper on Thanksgiving! Seems like a no-brainer, but even with all the scanned copies of ads available online, we still like to see the original, print copy in our own little hands. Not only does that allow you to see all the store offerings in your area, but you won’t have the dreaded task of using all your printer’s ink cartridges to get them in a form that you can easily shuffle, circle, and make notes on. Once you have the ads for stores you are interested in shopping from, start marking! Circle any and all items that catch your eye so you can carefully compare all the items you’ve circled later.
Have a Plan of Action for Black Friday!!
- Know whom you are shopping for. One of the best ways to keep spending within reason is to choose who you will be buying for before making your shopping list. That way you can mark people of the list once you get their items and not forget whether or not you got Chucky that Ipod he’s always been wanting.
- Set a dollar limit. Decide ahead of time how much you will spend for each person. If you absolutely have to go over that amount for a particular gift, work extra hard to make that money up on another gift. You can accomplish this with money back rebates!
- Plan a trip to the stores you’ll be going to, BEFORE Black Friday. This will give you the chance to see how much stock the store has, where these items are located and the quality of the item.
- Don’t forget to Bring the Ad with you. Once you get in the store, the last thing you want to do is look for the ad! You want to be able to go straight to the items you are wanting to purchase. Plus if your store matches other stores prices, you’ll be prepared!
{Tip}Price Compare! Most retailers will be offering similar, if not exactly the same, hot deals! You can make things easier on yourself by taking a few index cards and assign each card a store. Then write down the items with the lowest price on the corresponding store card. If you plan on shopping for several items at the same store, you can break the cards down further by department to help you in your organization. Trust me, when you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle, these will come in handy!
- Don’t forget to check online! Many of the items you will be looking for in-store will also be available for convenient ordering from home. Check out the online sales the night before to see if you’ll even need to leave home for the crowded stores!
- Have Fun and Remember it’s not the end of the World if you don’t get that $900 Laptop for $100!!
