My favorite things about Easter :)

Easter is still a few weeks away, but it will be here before you know it!  SocialMoms and Universal Pictures have asked bloggers to write about their favorite things at Easter.

For me Easter is a time to celebrate everything that Jesus has done for me!  I am always deeply moved . Every year I reflect on my relationship with Jesus and I am humbled and amazed that one such as me can enter into a personal relationship with God himself. I – the girl who struggles with so many things that grieve His heart – and I still have been given a position of honor in His family. I don’t have to go through a high priest, or anybody for that matter, to get to Him. He loves it when I talk with Him. When I pour my heart out to Him, and leave my worries with him. He made this possible through his terrible suffering and death.  This is why my heart rejoices, my eyes get teary(even now as I write this), and my smile is brighter than usual this time of year. I am reflecting on something that is so awesome, and  I know without a doubt to be true.  Jesus defeated death and was resurrected on Easter morning. Jesus died for everybody on the face of the earth. All we have to do is accept Jesus, confess our sins, obey Him, and live our lives for Him!

Another thing I like about Easter time is that Spring has officially arrived. Flowers are blooming and everything seems so pretty and New!  This year Easter is late enough that flowers should be in full bloom and the grass a pretty green!  Easter is about sharing time with family and having a nice Easter dinner! My mom usually has everyone over and cooks Ham,deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and so many other goodies!

As a child, I couldn’t wait to get home from church because the Easter bunny had been to our house and left eggs everywhere for us to find! This used to be the best part, coming home to find all the candy. I especially loved Peeps! Actually, I still love peeps so much and bought some for my children’s Easter baskets for this Easter. I couldn’t wait and opened a package of them, after my kids had gone to bed of course, but I guess I wan’t slick enough. One of my children saw the empty package in the trash can and asked how the empty package ended up there. Oops. 🙂

Hope you have a blessed Easter!
