Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe

Apple Pie Moonshine
Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe

Here is a great recipe that I recently got from my hairdresser in Kentucky. I use it to make gifts for family and friends at Christmas!! The mason jars are just to be consistent with the moonshine theme. They aren’t necessary, but they make storage easier, since your making such a large batch.

I used cupcake liners to decorate the lids and a little ribbon. Voila! You’ve got yourself a tasty, great gift!

Ingredients

  • 1 gal spiced apple cider
  • 1 gal apple juice
  • 8-10 cinnamon sticks
  • 1-1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1-1/2 c. brown sugar {I use light brown}
  • 750 ml bottle of 190 proof grain alcohol
  • 1 Liter whipped cream vodka

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large stock pot, except for the alcohol, and bring to a boil.
  2. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
  3. Remove the mixture from heat & let cool to room temperature.
  4. Once the mixture is completely cool, add in the alcohol.
  5. Transfer to sterile mason jars {I use 5 of the big 2000+ ml jars}
  6. I also divide up the cinnamon sticks so that each jar has one or two.
  7. Store them in a cool dark dry place.
  8. ***After a couple of weeks your Apple Pie Moonshine will taste even better.

    I love this and pinned it thanks.
  3. Except for the vodka, ( I use 2 ltrs of everclear) thats pretty much how I make my apple crisp. It makes around 12 quarts and I prefer to strain it before adding the alcohol & putting it in the jars. In my 1st batch I tried adding a stick per jar but found over time it seemed to get a bitter taste, but to each his own. If anyone knows of a EASY watermelon & everclear/grain alcohol recipe by bulk 2-3 gallons, please let me know. I've been wanting something for the summer time... Thanks love the site

    We hosted a neighborhood party to be in community on Sept 11- our annual event. A neighbor brought some of this to share, and now I'm totally eager to try making it! Thanks for the recipe! I'm wondering do you refrigerate it? I would think that you would not need to with the alcohol but another couple sites suggested it. Your thoughts back are totally welcome! Eager to try it
  5. We used Sin Fire, cinnamon whiskey, instead of vodka. Super yummy!
  6. I've had apple pie moonshine but have never thought to make it myself. Seems easy enough. Thanks for sharing on the Shine Blog Hop!
  7. This is an added step, but when I make apple pie moonshine I like to make the cider home made. This is the recipe I use! https://createwithkay.com/drink/homemade-spiced-apple-cider It's so delicious. And makes it feel even more home made
