So versatile, fresh avocados can be used in any meal or dish. They can be used as a recipe substitute for bad fats, a way to add naturally good fats, a nutrient-dense fruit to add nutrient value, and as a vegan or vegetarian possible alternative to dairy products.

The Chipotle Avocado Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes were definitely a hit and my new favorite appetizer.

Next up was this Vegan Avocado Ceviche Recipe that was refreshing and light but bursting with flavors. Ceviche sounds intimidating but it’s super easy, fresh and delicious!

I was surprised to find out that over 75% of the fat in avocados is unsaturated (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats), making them a great substitute for foods high in saturated fat! PLUS Avocado contributes nearly 20 vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, making it a good choice to help meet nutrient needs.

Our final Avocado dish was this Vietnamese Avocado Zoodle Salad Bowl Recipe which super quick and easy to put together and is great served as a main or side dish. Easy, colorful, and delicious!

Did you know that fresh avocados do not ripen on the tree, they ripen or “soften” after they have been picked off the tree? Usually it takes a few days to week before they are ready to eat. Avocado contributes nearly 20 vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, making it a good choice to help meet nutrient needs.

Have you ever sliced open an Avocado to find it’s not ripe? I have and it’s truly disheartening. Instead of just looking at the skin color, place the avocado in the palm of your hand and gently squeeze without applying your fingertips as this can cause bruising.

When is an Avocado Ripe

If it doesn’t yield then it is considered still “firm” and should be ripe in a couple of days.

If the avocado feels mushy or very soft to the touch it may be very ripe to overripe.

If the avocado yields to firm gentle pressure you know it’s ripe! You can devour that deliciousness!

Overall the Avocado Party was a smashing success and my friends were excited to try these new recipes at home with their families. I do believe the Vietnamese Avocado Zoodle Salad Bowl Recipe was a favorite but they were all incredibly tasty.

Now you have an excuse to throw a party and indulge in all sorts of good for you foods!
