Now I wouldn’t go and eat the entire dish by myself, but you can eat this Healthy 7 Layer Bean Dip recipe knowing that it doesn’t contain a bunch of “fillers.” I even show you how to make your own Homemade Refried Beans and Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix!


 
Did you know that Pinto beans are a very good source of cholesterol-lowering fiber? It’s high fiber content prevents blood sugar levels from rising too rapidly after a meal. Pinto beans are also a very good source of folate, good source of protein, vitamin B1, vitamin B6 along with many other things.

Healthy 7 Layer Bean Dip Recipe

 

Ingredients

2 cans refried beans* {or you can make your own Homemade Refried Beans}
3 medium avocados, seeds removed and chopped
1.5 cups low fat sour cream mixed with 1 packet taco seasoning mix* { or you can make your own homemade taco seasoning mix}
3 bunches chopped green onions, green parts only
3 medium diced tomatoes, seeds and juicy pulp removed
2 cups low fat shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
1 can (8 oz) black olives, drained and sliced

Directions

Assembling the Healthy 7 Layer Bean Dip is so easy! Just, add ingredients in distinct layers, starting with the refried beans and continue down the list. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips. You can opt for tortilla chips that are made with corn tortillas, rather than wheat flour-based tortillas so that they are Gluten-Free. Enjoy!
